Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care in a high-risk, high-volume Labor & Delivery unit serving a diverse patient population including midwifery clients, private OB patients, and community care patients
- Circulate in the OR (HARD STOP requirement) — must be able to fulfill circulator role during deliveries
- Function as Baby Nurse during delivery, providing continuous newborn care including eyes, Vit K injections (thighs), and newborn assessments until transfer to postpartum
- Administer and monitor high-acuity medications including Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
- Utilize EPIC and perform electronic fetal monitoring in accordance with AWHONN guidelines
- Float to Postpartum and Antepartum units, as well as sister facilities supporting Mother/Baby care, as needed
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license — compact license must be in hand at time of submission
- BLS certification required
- NRP certification required
- Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery experience
- High-risk L&D experience required
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible as a traveler (locals are accepted at a different rate)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- ACLS certification preferred
- AWHONN Advanced or AWHONN Intermediate certification preferred
- Experience in high-acuity, fast-paced obstetric environments with high daily census volumes
- Familiarity with EPIC electronic health records and electronic fetal monitoring systems
