Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Full-Time | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned adult medical/surgical patients
- Administer medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitor for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed therapies
- Address psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately and in a timely manner
- Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identify issues and available resources
- Make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers as needed to manage the clinical situation
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in the state of Texas or a compact state license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required – American Heart Association (AHA) only
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a Medical/Surgical nursing specialty
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Experience caring for joint replacement, general abdominal surgery, and/or spinal surgery patients
- Familiarity with adult-only patient populations
