Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Full-Time | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process — including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation — for assigned adult Medical/Surgical patients.
• Administer medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitor for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatment plans.
• Address psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications administered, and care provided accurately and in a timely manner.
• Assess patient and family learning needs; provide education and identify appropriate resources to support care continuity.
• Make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers as needed to effectively manage the clinical situation.

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of Texas or a valid Compact RN license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required — American Heart Association (AHA) only.
• Minimum of 1 year of Medical/Surgical nursing experience.
• Experience caring for adult patients only; this unit does not serve pediatric patients.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Experience with joint replacement, general abdominal surgery, and/or spinal surgery patient populations.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex clinical contingencies independently in a fast-paced Med/Surg environment.
