Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct inpatient nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including stroke/TIA, seizure, syncope, pneumonia, chest pain, dialysis, acute kidney failure, post heart cath, respiratory failure, encephalopathy, CHF, and sepsis
• Deliver care on a high-acuity Med-Surg/Telemetry unit with a strong focus on patient experience; staffing ratio of 1:6 on nights
• Perform and support specialized procedures including peritoneal dialysis and continuous bladder irrigation
• Administer and manage medications using the Omnicell medication system
• Document and manage patient care using EPIC EMR (minimum 1 year of experience required)
• Float to other units and/or campuses as needed based on census and demonstrated competencies

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Tennessee
• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in a Med-Surg or Telemetry unit
• Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience
• Prior travel nursing experience required — first-time travelers are not eligible for this assignment
• Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible; candidates between 50–99.9 miles may be considered at a reduced rate for this night shift specialty; candidates under 50 miles are not eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience caring for stroke and TIA patients in an inpatient setting
• Familiarity with peritoneal dialysis and continuous bladder irrigation procedures
• Experience with Omnicell medication management systems
