Registered Nurse – PCU (Progressive Care Unit)

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Weekdays and some weekends | Rotating holidays

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Progressive Care / Stepdown unit setting with an expected patient ratio of 1:3
• Monitor and interpret telemetry readings as part of ongoing patient assessment
• Perform IV insertions and manage IV therapy for assigned patients
• Float within units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed
• Document all patient care activities accurately using Epic EMR
• Participate in rotating holiday coverage per unit scheduling needs

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license — compact or Ohio state license must be in hand at time of submission
• Nursing degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program required
• Minimum 2 years of PCU experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Proficiency in IV start and telemetry monitoring required
• Epic EMR experience required
• 2 professional references required; at least 1 must be from a manager, director, or formal leadership role (charge RN acceptable as second reference; no coworker references)
• Locals are welcome and accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience floating across units of varying acuity levels
• Familiarity with stepdown or intermediate care workflows
• Strong adaptability and communication skills in a fast-paced hospital environment
