Surgical Services – Sterile Processing Technician (SPT)

Contract | Night Shift | 5x8 Hours | 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM | Monday – Friday

Key Responsibilities

• Perform decontamination of all items including drills, robotic surgical instruments, and scopes
• Assemble instruments across all service lines including trauma, loaners, and peel packaging
• Execute sterilization processes including Sterrad and steam sterilization
• Perform High-Level Disinfection (HLD) and scope processing
• Manage sterile storage and serve in an OR Liaison capacity as needed
• Utilize instrument tracking systems including Censitrac and Medivator

Required Qualifications

• CBSPD or CRCST certification (through HSPA, formerly IAHCSMM) required
• Medivator experience required; candidates will be asked to self-rate their Medivator proficiency on a scale of 1–4 at time of submission
• Experience working in a high-volume, Level One trauma facility or comparable setting strongly required
• Proficiency across all areas of the sterile processing department including decontamination, assembly, sterilization, HLD, sterile storage, and OR liaison functions
• Locals are accepted
• Must be prepared to complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly upon contract signing; candidates outside Ohio may be required to travel to an in-state fingerprinting location or complete a mailed packet urgently upon receipt

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Censitrac or similar instrument tracking systems
• Background processing robotic surgical instruments (e.g., da Vinci) and complex orthopedic/trauma loaner sets
• Prior travel assignment experience in a comparable large academic or trauma center environment
