Schedule / Job Type

• Full-time, day shift, 5 days per week, with on-call rotation (weeknights, weekends, and holidays)

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process and critical thinking in collaboration with interdisciplinary team members to care for patients.
• Perform assessments, planning, interventions, and evaluations of patient care.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments following approved nursing techniques, policies, and standards of care.
• Ensure comprehensive and accurate documentation in accordance with organizational standards.
• Develop, initiate, and implement individualized patient care plans in collaboration with physicians and hospital policies.
• Provide patient and family education tailored to their understanding.
• Participate in department or unit performance improvement activities and share governance initiatives.
• Support and guide other units/departments based on clinical expertise within the patient's care continuum.
• Manage complex patient situations with critical thinking, prioritize safety, and escalate issues appropriately.
• Engage in personal professional development and contribute to evidence-based practice improvements.
• Participate in peer review and ongoing educational opportunities.
• Maintain a timely flow of patients in clinic and ambulatory settings, including telephone triage of patients and responses to calls.

Required Qualifications

• Active IL RN licensure.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with education verification.
• Minimum of 3 years of RN experience, including 1 year of critical care experience.
• Cardiovascular intervention experience preferred.
• Current CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• NIHSS certification.
• Successfully pass EKG test prior to completing orientation.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in an IR setting at a Level 1 Trauma Center.
• Strong critical thinking and patient safety skills.
• Excellent communication and patient education abilities.
