• Full-time, nights, 3 shifts per week, 12-hour shifts

Key Responsibilities

• Provide emergency nursing care to pediatric and adult patients in a busy ER setting.
• Manage complex cases including respiratory, neurological, trauma, and psychiatric emergencies.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and perform procedures such as intubation and chest tube management.
• Interpret assessments such as ABGs, 12-lead EKGs, and cardiac rhythm monitoring.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Follow isolation precautions, triage appropriately, and ensure compliance with hospital protocols.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of recent ER experience within the past 12 months.
• Active RN license in Missouri or compact license.
• BLS, NIHSS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Pediatric emergency skills including abdominal pain, asthma, burns, head trauma, and infectious diseases.
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, airway management, and medication administration in emergency settings.
• Ability to work night shifts and comply with floating requirements within scope.
• Reliable references from recent supervisory or charge RN roles.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience managing multisystem organ failure or working in STEMI and Stroke certified facilities.
• Skills in procedural sedation, near drowning incidents, and orthopedics (splinting).
• Ability to interpret complex dysrhythmias and manage ventilated patients.

Additional Details

• Facility: Community Hospital with 240 beds in Lee's Summit, MO.
• Shift: Night shifts, 12 hours, beginning at 6:45 PM.
• Charting System: EPIC.
• Floating within scope to all SLHS Metro EDs as needed; occasional departmental or facility moves may be required.
• Travel/compliance: Must hold both Kansas and Missouri or compact licenses; no local radius rule.
• Guaranteed hours: 3 shifts every 13 weeks.
• No holiday requirement; on-call not required.
• Must complete pre-start modules and comply with onboarding documentation.
• References: Two recent supervisory or charge RN references within the past year.

Note: All candidates must meet the minimum two-year recent ER experience requirement, and be prepared for a comprehensive onboarding process including modular training and compliance documentation.
