Contract | Night Shift | Full-Time | Onsite | Every other weekend and every other holiday required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit managing a variety of diagnoses including respiratory conditions, DKA, traumas, neurological events, overdose, and post-surgical cases
- Manage and titrate drips including cardiac, insulin, heparin, and sedation medications
- Monitor and manage intubated patients, sedations, ICPs, and EVDs; respond to emergency situations as they arise
- Independently read, interpret, and document telemetry strips without the support of monitor technicians
- Operate and monitor respiratory therapy equipment including ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, Nava, Vapotherm, and Heliox
- Perform phlebotomy and draw labs independently as required by the unit
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- Minimum of 1 year of PICU experience required
- Current PALS and BLS certifications required
- Demonstrated experience with intubated patients, drip titration, sedation management, ICPs, and EVDs
- Ability to independently read and interpret cardiac monitor strips
- Must clock in and out at the facility for all shifts
Preferred Experience / Skills
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification is a plus
- Experience in NICU for potential float coverage based on census needs
- Comfort working in a self-scheduling, tiered scheduling environment
