Registered Nurse Emergency Room

Job Title

• Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) – Night Shift

Location

• Tuscaloosa, AL

Schedule / Job Type

• Travel, Night shifts, 36 or 48 hours per week, 13-week assignment

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency medical care in a high-volume, Level III Trauma Center
• Float between units and hospitals as needed, ensuring flexible coverage
• Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and support staff to deliver quality patient care
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to safety and compliance standards
• Respond effectively to emergent situations in a fast-paced environment
• Offer compassionate care to patients of all ages, from trauma to critical cases

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
• Valid Alabama or Compact State Registered Nurse license (no temporary licenses accepted)
• BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications from the American Heart Association or Red Cross
• NIH Certification (e.g., TNCC, Secure) at the minimum
• Minimum 2 years of recent ER experience; 1 year of recent high-level specialty experience preferred
• Willingness to float to other units and hospitals as required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in a Level III Trauma and Level II Stroke Center
• Strong ability to manage multiple critical patients simultaneously
• Knowledge of Meditech electronic medical record system
