Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized care to cardiac ICU patients, including management of dysrhythmias, post-cardiac surgery, and mechanical support devices such as Impella and LVAD.
• Monitor and interpret invasive lines, ABGs, and ventilator parameters, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
• Administer complex medications and IV therapies, including vasoactive drips, sedation, and blood products.
• Assist in the management of ventilated patients, including use of BiPAP, CPAP, and HFNC.
• Perform interventions such as phlebotomy, wound care, and infection control while adhering to PPE protocols.
• Float to other ICU units as needed supporting comprehensive cardiovascular and critical care.

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license
• CPR, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
• Epic EMR experience
• Minimum 3 years of CVICU experience, including interpretation and management of complex cardiac cases
• Ability to pass an EKG test with a score of 80% or above

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Charge nurse experience in CVICU
• Experience with intra-aortic balloon pump, CVVHD/CRRT, and other advanced cardiac life support equipment
• Prior float experience in ICU settings
