Registered Nurse Cardiac Stepdown

Key Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care to patients in the cardiac stepdown unit, following physician orders and hospital protocols.
• Document patient care comprehensively, including care plans and shift reports.
• Communicate patient information effectively during bedside report, multidisciplinary rounds, and hourly rounding.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care and patient safety.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and safety huddles, contributing to a culture of safety and well-being.
• Serve as a preceptor for new nurses and support peer feedback and performance development.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of clinical indicators and participate in unit-based performance improvement activities.
• Support organization’s mission and values through compassionate, patient-centered care.

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state of New Hampshire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Knowledge of dysrhythmia interpretation (preferred or obtained during orientation).
• Graduate of an approved nursing program (preferred).

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Basic dysrhythmia recognition or training completed prior to orientation.
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training (preferred or obtained during orientation).
• Ability to float to psychiatric units as needed.
