Registered Nurse – Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU)

Contract | Travel | Days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | 13-Week Assignment | 36–48 Hours Per Week | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide complex monitoring and treatment of adult patients in a 16-bed high-acuity Medical Intensive Care Unit
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes
• Demonstrate high levels of professional competency in a fast-paced critical care environment
• Maintain a safe, secure, and comfortable environment for patients and their families
• Float to other units and hospital locations as required
• Work every other weekend and holidays as required by the facility

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
• Active Registered Nurse license in the State of Alabama or a valid compact license (temporary licenses not accepted); Nursys verification required
• AHA ACLS certification
• AHA BLS certification
• AHA NIH Stroke Scale or Red Cross equivalent certification
• Minimum of 18 months of experience working under the highest level of professional license, with at least 1 year of ICU specialty experience

Preferred Experience / Skills

• PALS certification (required if assigned to a pediatric unit)
• Experience with Meditech EMR
• 2 or more years of total nursing experience
