Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in an LDRP setting, managing labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum patients within a single unit
- Care for nursery patients at 35 weeks gestation or greater in a Level 1 Nursery environment
- Titrate Pitocin drips per physician orders and unit protocols in accordance with AWHONN ratio guidelines
- Utilize the OBIX electronic fetal monitoring system to monitor and document fetal and maternal status
- Operate respiratory therapy equipment including vents, CPAP, and BiPAP as needed
- Function within a charge nurse model where the charge nurse carries a patient assignment; no nurse aide or surgical tech support on unit
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current BLS certification
- Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
- Demonstrated clinical skills in labor, postpartum, and nursery nursing within an LDRP setting
- Ability to independently read and interpret fetal monitoring strips
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience with the OBIX electronic fetal monitoring system
- Familiarity with AWHONN staffing and clinical practice guidelines
- Experience managing Pitocin titration in a labor and delivery environment
