Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a surgical telemetry unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5
- Monitor and manage patients with diagnoses related to spine surgery and post-surgical recovery
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes using Cerner EMR
- Float to other units within acuity level as directed by staffing
- Participate in holiday and every-other-weekend rotation as required
- Provide timely shift handoff to charge or oncoming nurse, including outstanding tasks not visible in the EMR
Required Qualifications
- Active Delaware RN license or valid Compact RN license currently in hand
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Telemetry specialty — no exceptions
- Current BLS certification and all required nursing certifications with valid expiration dates
- Ability to complete a Voice Advantage interview and a Nurse Manager screening/interview prior to placement
- No overtime or incidental overtime accumulation; must adhere to facility overtime policies
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in a surgical or post-operative telemetry setting
- Familiarity with Cerner EMR documentation
- Experience caring for spine surgery patients
