Travel RN – Progressive Care Unit / Clinical Decision Unit (Night Shift)

Contract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Every other weekend required | Projected Start: 06/29/2026
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 20-bed inpatient overflow unit serving a mixed level of care including medical-surgical and step-down patients
- Manage short-stay patients with a length of stay under 24 hours, adapting to a fast-paced, high-turnover environment
- Monitor patients via hardwired bedside telemetry equipment and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
- Collaborate with charge nurses, fellow RNs, and CNAs across day and night shifts to maintain safe patient ratios of 1:5, with stretch to 1:6 depending on level of care
- Document accurately and efficiently using Cerner EMR
- Float to other units as needed per facility guidelines
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in North Carolina or compact state eligibility
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a Progressive Care or Step-Down setting
- Demonstrated telemetry competency
- Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Current ACLS certification (American Heart Association)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Recent progressive care or PCU experience in an acute care hospital setting
- Experience with Cerner EMR
- Positive, patient-experience-focused attitude with strong teamwork and communication skills
