Key Responsibilities
- Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments, incorporating culture, age, developmental level, and risk factors into individualized care planning.
- Implement patient care therapies and procedures with clinical autonomy within scope of practice, including medication administration, wound care, and IV therapy.
- Recognize, respond to, and communicate changes in patient condition to the interdisciplinary team in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities, including discharge teaching and coordination with case management.
- Delegate tasks appropriately and monitor accuracy and completeness of care provided by other team members.
- Actively participate in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and documentation auditing.
Required Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN).
- Proficiency in administering medications and performing medical procedures such as wound care and IV therapy.
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and task prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills for collaboration with interdisciplinary teams and patient/family education.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Experience in a cardiac stepdown or coronary care unit setting.
