Contract | Days (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM) | 3x12 or 4x12 shifts | Every other weekend required | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in an Intermediate Care / Progressive Care / Stepdown unit within a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry, manage dysrhythmias, and respond to rapid response team activations
• Manage complex IV therapy including central lines, PICC lines, arterial lines, port access, blood product administration, and vasoactive and cardiac drip titration
• Care for patients with neurological, cardiovascular, respiratory, orthopedic, gastrointestinal, and renal conditions including post-surgical and trauma presentations
• Perform and oversee respiratory management including ventilated patients, tracheostomy care, chest tubes, HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP, and ABG interpretation
• Maintain accurate electronic documentation and adhere to isolation precautions and wound care protocols

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license in hand at time of application (pending licensure not accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience in a Telemetry, Neuro Stepdown, PCU, DOU, IMC, or Stepdown setting
• Current BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross only; RQI cards not accepted)
• Current NIH Stroke Scale certification
• Demonstrated experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and vasoactive/cardiac drip titration
• Experience with a broad range of IV therapy, phlebotomy, and medication management skills including heparin protocols, PCA, and procedural sedation

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Current ACLS certification (AHA or Red Cross)
• Experience charting in Cerner EMR
• Prior experience in a teaching hospital environment
• Level I Trauma center experience
