Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care on an Advanced Care Unit managing patients with conditions such as heart failure, chest pain rule-out, NSTEMI, post-procedure recovery, COPD exacerbation, and drug/alcohol overdose and withdrawal
• Administer and monitor IV drips including heparin, nitroglycerin, amiodarone, Cardizem, and insulin
• Read and interpret cardiac telemetry strips; maintain competency in EKG/dysrhythmia recognition
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:5–6 and deliver safe, high-quality nursing care in a fast-paced stepdown environment
• Float within specialty clusters as assigned, including potential assignments across multiple campuses within the metro area
• Complete required orientation modules and maintain annual competency requirements

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (any state accepted; compact license accepted; temporary license available upon offer)
• Documented Stepdown or PCU experience with 1:5 patient ratio reflected in work history
• EPIC electronic health record experience
• BLS and NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• Demonstrated ability to perform IV starts and manage IV drip therapies
• Must pass an online EKG/telemetry competency assessment prior to assignment start

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification preferred
• Minimum 1.5 years of experience; experience in a Level 1 or Level 2 facility preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
