Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care on an Advanced Care Unit managing patients with conditions such as heart failure, chest pain rule-out, NSTEMI, post-procedure recovery, COPD exacerbation, and drug/alcohol overdose and withdrawal
- Administer and monitor IV drips including heparin, nitroglycerin, amiodarone, Cardizem, and insulin
- Read and interpret cardiac telemetry strips; maintain competency in EKG/dysrhythmia recognition
- Maintain patient ratios of 1:5–6 and deliver safe, high-quality nursing care in a fast-paced stepdown environment
- Float within specialty clusters as assigned, including potential assignments across multiple campuses within the metro area
- Complete required orientation modules and maintain annual competency requirements
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license (any state accepted; compact license accepted; temporary license available upon offer)
- Documented Stepdown or PCU experience with 1:5 patient ratio reflected in work history
- EPIC electronic health record experience
- BLS and NIH Stroke Scale certification required
- Demonstrated ability to perform IV starts and manage IV drip therapies
- Must pass an online EKG/telemetry competency assessment prior to assignment start
Preferred Experience / Skills
- ACLS certification preferred
- Minimum 1.5 years of experience; experience in a Level 1 or Level 2 facility preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience preferred
