Patient Care Assistant / Tech – Intensive Care Unit
Location
Glenview, IL
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Night Shift | 8 Hours | 11:30 PM – 7:00 AM | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care and assistance within an Intensive Care Unit setting
- Support nursing staff with patient monitoring, comfort, and daily care needs
- Float to Med/Surg units, ICU, and Emergency Room as needed
- Adhere to weekend rotation requirements, working every other weekend
- Observe and report changes in patient condition to the clinical care team
- Maintain compliance with holiday scheduling requirements
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Patient Care Technician or Assistant
- Active BLS Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Ability and willingness to float to Med/Surg, ICU, and Emergency Room units
- Availability to work night shifts, every other weekend, and holidays
Preferred Experience / Skills
- 3 or more years of experience as a Patient Care Technician or Assistant
- Prior experience working in an Intensive Care Unit or high-acuity environment
- Familiarity with multi-unit float responsibilities in a hospital setting
