Key Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in a 44-bed Progressive Care Unit, ensuring safe and effective treatment for patients with neuro and trauma needs
• Monitor patient status through neuro and spinal checks, and perform procedures such as chest tube management, PCA pump administration, and IV infusions
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to deliver patient-centered care and document using Cerner EMR platform
• Assist with patient assessments, including neuro and spinal assessments, and assist with procedures like C-collar placement and brace management
• Follow unit policies, uphold safety standards, and ensure compliance with certification requirements

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• NIHSS certification or ability to obtain
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in neuro, trauma, or stepdown units
• Ability to work 12.5-hour day shifts, every other weekend

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Neuro and trauma care experience
• Experience with Chest Tube management, PCA pumps, and other critical care procedures
