Medical Technologist (MT) / Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13-Week Assignment | Days | Full-Time | Onsite | 3 x 12-Hour Shifts | Rotating Weekends

Key Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing including Blood Bank testing, gram stains, planting cultures, and blood cultures
• Conduct phlebotomy procedures proficiently
• Fill in Thursday night shifts and cover vacancies as needed
• Work rotating holidays and approximately every 5th weekend
• Adhere to current infection control protocols including proper PPE use and isolation room procedures
• Multitask and prioritize workload independently in a critical access hospital laboratory setting

Required Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited MT or MLT program
• Proficiency in phlebotomy
• Competency in Blood Bank testing
• Experience with gram stains, planting cultures, and blood cultures
• Ability to work independently and communicate proficiently
• Familiarity with current COVID/infection control regulations including PPE and isolation protocols

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Microbiology background strongly preferred
• Prior experience in a critical access or rural hospital laboratory setting
