Registered Nurse – Psychiatric (Geriatric Behavioral Health)

Contract | 13-Week Assignment | Night Shift (12-Hour Shifts) | Friday, Saturday, and Sunday | 18:45–07:15 | 36 or 48 hours per week available

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to adult and geriatric patients (18+) with primary behavioral health diagnoses, including dementia with behavioral disturbance, Alzheimer's disease, depression, anxiety, mania, and psychosis
• Manage patients with multiple medical comorbidities in a specialized inpatient behavioral health setting
• Utilize unit systems including EPIC, PYXIS, SBAR, and Voalte phones to document and coordinate patient care
• Develop and maintain individualized patient care plans in accordance with unit protocols and patient handbooks
• Float to other behavioral health units within the health system as needed
• Support patients undergoing Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT), which is performed off-unit in the surgical suite

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina or a Compact state license
• Minimum of 2 years of registered nursing experience
• Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be accepted
• Current BLS certification
• MOAB (Management of Aggressive Behavior) certification
• Willingness to float to other units within and near the facility as required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Gerontology Certification through ANCC
• Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing Certificate
• Experience working with geriatric populations and dementia-related behavioral disturbances
