Key Responsibilities

• Implement prescribed physical therapy treatments under the direction of a licensed physical therapist.
• Review patient clinical records, case histories, and treatment plans to ensure proper care.
• Document patient procedures, diagnoses, treatment outcomes, and progress in accordance with hospital policies.
• Assist in patient education, including home exercise programs and self-care techniques, ensuring understanding and safety.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to coordinate care, equipment needs, and discharge planning.
• Support administrative functions, including maintaining supplies and clinical equipment, and using electronic health record systems.

Required Qualifications

• Graduated from a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Licensed as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of Alaska.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Clinical competency within 3 months of hire, with ongoing competency updates every three years.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in acute care hospital or outpatient settings preferred.
• Knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy, treatment techniques, and functional assessment.
• Proficiency with medical equipment and therapeutic devices.
• Strong communication skills for effective patient and team interactions.
