Key Responsibilities

  • Provide culturally relevant, evidence-based outpatient behavioral health services including individual, group, family, and marital therapy, bio-psychosocial assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and care coordination.
  • Develop and review individualized treatment plans based on client needs, integrating mental health and substance use disorder interventions using a Trauma Informed Care approach.
  • Deliver crisis intervention services during normal clinic hours and participate in a shared rotating after-hours crisis and emergency services schedule at rural clinic locations.
  • Maintain complete, timely, and accurate documentation of all clinical services within the electronic health record in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate and communicate with multidisciplinary team members across the health system to support individualized treatment goals and coordinate referrals with community social agencies.
  • Consistently meet clinical productivity standards and promptly respond to coding, audit, and provider enrollment requests.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Licensure as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) preferred; unlicensed candidates eligible for clinical supervision toward licensure.
  • Valid State of Alaska Driver's License, or ability to obtain one within 6 months of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association required within 3 months of hire.
  • Demonstrated experience with behavioral health assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and referral for patients across all age groups.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, CARF, The Joint Commission, state mandatory reporting requirements, and other applicable federal and state regulations.

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Alaska State Chemical Dependency Counselor I (CDCI) or Master Addiction Counselor (MAC) certificate or equivalent.
  • Experience applying motivational interviewing techniques and delivering integrated mental health and substance use disorder treatment.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based methods for emotional, behavioral, and mental health treatment across individual, group, and family modalities.
