Full-Time, Night Shifts, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced cardiac stepdown unit, managing 6 patients per shift.
• Monitor cardiac patients, including those on telemetry, pacemakers, ICDs, and post-procedure care.
• Administer and titrate cardiac drips such as Cardizem, Dopamine, and Amiodarone under protocol.
• Collaborate with healthcare team on patient assessments, procedures, and discharge planning.
• Utilize telemetry and pulse oximetry to monitor patient status continuously.
• Adhere to unit policies on equipment and documentation, including EPIC and Pyxis systems.

Required Qualifications

• Valid NC or Compact nursing license.
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in a telemetry or cardiac stepdown setting.
• ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Certification.
• Experience with IV start, telemetry, and post-procedure patient management.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous travel nurse experience, willing to accept first-time travelers.
• Comfortable managing high patient acuity and fast turnover (78-90 patients weekly).
• Ability to work independently with minimal block scheduling; adaptable to float requirements.

Additional Information

• RTO: Up to 7 days, approved in advance; no RTO during first week.
• No block scheduling; self-scheduling with leadership oversight.
• Must pass EKG testing prior to starting.
• Shifts: Night (18:45 – 07:15).
• Flexibility for float within the facility is required.
• COVID-positive patients housed in designated areas with specialized respiratory equipment and protocols.
