Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Contract | Nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | 36 or 48 hours per week available | Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit serving a surgical patient population including colorectal, general surgery, hepatobiliary, orthopedic, urology, and vascular cases
• Monitor and interpret telemetry readings, responding appropriately to cardiac changes
• Administer medications and manage IV access, including IV starts
• Utilize electronic health record and unit systems including Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR communication framework
• Participate in self-scheduling in alignment with unit needs and nurse manager input
• Float to other units or areas within the facility on an occasional basis as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in NC or a Compact state
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required
• Proficiency in IV starts and telemetry monitoring
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience with Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR communication
• Experience in a surgical or acute care patient population
• Travel nursing experience preferred; first-time travelers will be considered
