Surgical Technologist – CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room)

Contract | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts (11:00–23:30) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Scrub and assist in cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) procedures, including cardiac and vascular cases
• Provide surgical technologist support for non-cardiac cases when CVOR caseload is not active
• Participate in cardiac on-call rotation, with call requirements varying based on staffing levels (approximately 6 or more shifts per month)
• Float within scope to meet facility needs, including potential float to sister facilities
• Complete required facility modules prior to start date and annually as applicable
• Document and chart accurately using EPIC electronic health records system

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 18 months of surgical technologist experience required
• Demonstrated experience in Cardiac OR (CVOR) is required
• Strong vascular surgical experience required
• Active BLS certification required
• Must be nicotine-free; negative 10-panel plus nicotine (cotinine) drug screen required
• Must be able to fulfill cardiac on-call requirements as assigned

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 2 or more years of surgical technologist experience preferred
• National certification through NBSTSA or NCCT preferred
• Experience in a short-term acute care, teaching hospital environment preferred
