Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a Medical Intensive Care Unit setting
• Manage and monitor patients with complex diagnoses including COPD, ARDS, pneumonia, sepsis, oncologic emergencies, pulmonary hypertension, gastrointestinal bleeds, neuromuscular disease, drug overdose, and autoimmune disorders
• Operate and manage mechanical ventilators and perform arterial pressure monitoring for hemodynamically compromised patients
• Assist with and monitor specialized procedures including pulmonary artery catheter placement, CRRT, central venous catheters, chest tubes, plasmapheresis, and chemotherapy administration
• Administer complex medication regimens and support patients enrolled in clinical trials
• Accurately document all patient care activities using electronic health record systems

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of ICU nursing experience; first-time travelers are not eligible for this position
• Valid RN license – compact or Ohio state license required and must be in hand at time of submission
• Active ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications required
• Proficiency with mechanical ventilators and IV starts
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record system required
• Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience caring for patients requiring bronchoscopy or endoscopy support
• Prior travel nursing experience in an ICU or critical care environment
