Sterile Processing Technician

Columbus, OH
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Evening Shift (3:00 PM – 11:30 PM) | Monday through Friday with occasional scheduled holidays | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Perform decontamination of surgical instruments and equipment, including drills, robotic surgical components, and scopes
- Assemble instruments across all service lines, including trauma, loaner sets, and peel packaging
- Operate sterilization equipment and execute sterilization processes including sterrad and steam methods
- Perform high-level disinfection (HLD) and scope reprocessing
- Maintain sterile storage in accordance with departmental standards
- Serve as an OR Liaison and utilize instrument tracking systems to ensure accurate documentation and traceability
Required Qualifications
- Active CRCST or CSPDT certification required
- Demonstrated experience across all areas of sterile processing, including decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and sterile storage
- Experience in a high-volume or Level One trauma facility environment
- Proficiency with instrument tracking systems (Censitrac experience preferred)
- Ability to float between multiple facility locations as needed
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience as a Core Tech or OR Liaison within a surgical services department
- Strong customer service skills with experience interfacing between sterile processing and surgical teams
- Prior travel assignment experience in a comparable large-scale acute care setting
