Key Responsibilities
- Provide pre- and post-procedural nursing care for endoscopy and interventional radiology patients in a Phase I PACU setting
- Recover a wide variety of acute post-operative surgical patients including neurosurgery, ENT, plastics, orthopedics, thoracic, vascular, trauma, general, colorectal, GYN, urological, electrophysiology, and interventional radiology
- Manage patients requiring artificial airways, invasive monitoring (including ICP monitoring), vasoactive drug administration, and blood product transfusions
- Monitor and manage dysrhythmias, perform phlebotomy, start IVs, and care for ventilated patients
- Care for adult, adolescent, and geriatric patient populations within a Level I Trauma Center environment
- Float within service line to PACU or PreOp units as needed to meet facility demands
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license (MO or compact license required; pending MO license considered)
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience; critical care experience required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required by compliance deadline
- Proficiency with Epic electronic health records
- Experience in an inpatient, Level I Trauma Center setting
- Skills must include: dysrhythmia recognition and management, blood product administration, phlebotomy, IV insertion, IV vasopressor administration, ICP monitoring, and care of ventilated patients
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior Phase I PACU experience strongly preferred
- Experience recovering patients across multiple surgical specialties in a high-acuity environment
- Familiarity with pre-operative patient preparation and assessment
