Contract | Days | 4x10-Hour Shifts (7:00–17:30) | Monday–Friday with occasional weekend requirement approximately every six weeks
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to adult and geriatric oncology and non-oncology patients in an outpatient infusion center setting, maintaining a 1:1 staffing ratio
- Administer chemotherapy and non-chemotherapy infusions including IV push, continuous infusion, and management of cytotoxic spills; monitor patients for adverse reactions and communicate abnormal lab values
- Manage IV therapy including accessing and caring for ports, PICC lines, and central lines; administer blood products, coagulation factors, antifungals, antivirals, and intravenous hydration
- Support bone marrow transplant patients including administration of bone marrow, CAR-T, stem cell therapies, and management of graft-versus-host disease
- Recognize and respond to oncologic emergencies including acute tumor lysis syndrome, anaphylaxis, extravasation injury, and sepsis
- Provide psychosocial support, patient and family education, symptom management, and care coordination across a broad range of cancer diagnoses
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Michigan (must be in hand at time of submission)
- Minimum of 2 years of oncology nursing experience; prior travel nursing experience required (first-time travelers not accepted)
- Current BLS certification (AHA)
- Chemotherapy certification (ONS or ONCC)
- Proficiency with Epic electronic health records (required)
- Experience in an outpatient oncology or infusion center setting
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with CADD pumps and Pyxis medication dispensing systems
- Background in bone marrow transplant, CAR-T therapy, or stem cell administration
- Familiarity with phlebotomy, tracheostomy care, wound care, and telephone triage
- Experience managing a broad range of cancer diagnoses including leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, and solid tumor malignancies
