Contract (13 Weeks) | Full-Time | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process — including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation — for assigned Emergency Room patients.
- Administer medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitor for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments.
- Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice.
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications administered, and care provided accurately and in a timely manner.
- Assess patient and family learning needs; provide education and identify appropriate resources.
- Make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers as needed to effectively manage clinical situations.
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in the state of Texas or a compact state license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification — American Heart Association only.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification — American Heart Association only.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification — American Heart Association only.
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification.
- Minimum of 1 year of Emergency Room nursing experience.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
- Experience caring for stroke, STEMI, MVC trauma, psychiatric, geriatric, and pediatric patient populations.
- Familiarity working in a high-volume emergency department environment with fast-track and trauma bay operations.
