Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to an elder population in a long-term care geriatric psychiatric setting
- Manage skilled nursing charting and documentation, primarily during the day shift
- Administer medications and treatments; work alongside a medication aide during designated shift hours
- Monitor and support patients with diagnoses including dementia, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and paranoia enrolled in a behavioral health program
- Participate in facility orientation including training, tour, competency verification, and shadow shifts
Required Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Experience in long-term care or skilled nursing facility settings
- Ability to work 12-hour block scheduling including every other weekend
- Proficiency or ability to learn Point Click Care (PCC) EMR system
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Geriatric psychiatric (geri psych) nursing experience
- Experience working with behavioral health populations including dementia, schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder in a long-term care environment
