Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Progressive Care/Telemetry unit with a 3:1 nurse-to-patient ratio serving an adult population
• Manage and monitor patients with diagnoses including Acute Coronary Syndrome, Heart Failure, hemodynamic instability, thrombolytic therapy, post-PTCA/stent care, and ETOH withdrawal requiring advanced monitoring
• Administer and titrate insulin drips, cardiac drips, inotropic, vasodilator, antiarrhythmic, and anti-platelet infusions
• Perform IV starts, venipuncture, EKGs, and post cardiac catheterization care including arterial/venous sheath management
• Participate as part of the Resource Float Team, floating to appropriate units as needed based on census and patient care needs
• Meet weekend requirements (minimum every other weekend) and work 2 out of 3 designated holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas/Christmas Eve, and New Year's Day/Eve

Required Qualifications

• Active New York State RN license or documented proof of application with applied date required at time of submission (note: NY licensure processing may take 6–8 weeks)
• Minimum of 1 year of clinical RN experience, with at least 1 year of telemetry experience
• AHA BLS and AHA ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification required prior to start
• Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years required and non-negotiable
• Proficiency with insulin drips, cardiac drips, IV insertion, and post cardiac cath care

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
• Familiarity with MAK medication system
• Experience in a non-teaching, Level 2 Trauma facility environment
