Operating Room Technician – OR Tech

Contract | Days | 16–26 Week Assignment | Shift Hours: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM | On-call and weekend rotation required

Key Responsibilities

• Scrub and/or circulate in a variety of surgical cases including orthopedics, robotics, general surgery, ENT, plastics, and vascular procedures
• Assist surgical team in the operating room across main campus OR suites and ambulatory surgery center (ASC) as needed through float rotation
• Support patient transport when central transport is backed up and perform IV starts per unit protocol
• Adhere to facility dress code, documentation standards, and OR-specific protocols throughout the assignment
• Participate in on-call rotation, including one call night per week and on-call coverage approximately once every third to fourth weekend
• Document accurately using EPIC for both patient care and medication management

Required Qualifications

• Certification through NBSTSA required
• Active New York state licensure/registration required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in surgical/OR specialty required
• Vascular surgical skills are required
• Work history must include experience at a similarly sized facility and Trauma Level II or higher

Preferred Experience / Skills

• CNOR certification preferred
• Prior travel assignment experience preferred
• Scrub experience preferred in addition to circulating ability
• Broad surgical knowledge base including robotics, neuro, and plastics strongly preferred
