Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily patient rounds to ensure quality care, coordinating and addressing any unmet patient requirements.
- Develop and implement individualized plans of care based on comprehensive assessment of patients' physical, psychological, social, educational, developmental, and rehabilitative needs.
- Assess, intervene, and reassess patients' pain and symptoms promptly, taking appropriate action per standard operating procedures.
- Identify early warning signs of patient deterioration, respond appropriately, and assist with or institute emergency measures as needed.
- Report and accurately document pertinent patient observations, reactions, and incidents; ensure timely interventions and referrals are completed each shift.
- Initiate discharge planning, patient and family education, and counseling as early as possible to optimize understanding and safe discharge.
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the North Dakota Board of Nursing (NDBON) or a Compact State license, required prior to start date.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA), required prior to start date.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care across the patient populations served.
- Ability to delegate nursing interventions appropriately within scope of practice, education, and experience.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in a Medical Surgical, Telemetry, or Pediatrics nursing setting.
- Experience with interdisciplinary care team collaboration and coordination.
- Familiarity with discharge planning processes and patient/family education best practices.
