Surgical Technologist – Surgical Services

Contract | Days | 5x8 Hours | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Scrub and assist in a high-acuity surgical environment spanning Neuro, Ortho Trauma, Totals, Neuro Spine, and Basic Craniotomy and VP Shunt procedures
- Support vascular cases including PV-RX AAA (start until PV call arrives) and Thrombectomies
- Assist in Trauma cases including RX Spleen, Organ Donation, GSW, and Thoracotomies
- Participate in General, GYN, Laparoscopic, Urology (Cystos and Stent Placements), ENT, Plastics, Oral Max, Dilation & Curettage, and Laparoscopic-assisted gynecological procedures
- Fulfill call requirements, including Neuro call averaging approximately 90–120 hours every 6 weeks
- Float within the hospital or to affiliate facilities as required of all travelers
Required Qualifications
- BCLS certification required
- NBSTSA certification required
- Minimum 2 years of surgical technologist experience; Level I Trauma experience is required
- Must demonstrate proficiency ratings of 3s and 4s in Neuro and Trauma skill sets
- License must be in hand prior to start date; temporary licenses may be obtainable once permanent license applications have been submitted
- Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays; up to 5 non-holiday RTO days may be auto-approved, with additional RTO subject to facility approval
- Local travelers (Indiana residents) are accepted for this Surgical Services position and may be offered an in-state rate
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with flap and scope procedures in Plastics and ENT
- Familiarity with DaVinci XI robotic surgical system
- Experience in a high-volume, multi-specialty surgical environment
