Key Responsibilities

• Collect patient specimens and utilize the laboratory information system to receive patients, order and collect samples, result tests, document quality control activities, and produce required reports
• Perform lab tests across specialties including hematology, urinalysis, chemistry, blood bank, and/or microbiology using both automated and manual methods per defined policies and procedures
• Analyze test results prior to release for validity and accuracy; ensure designated turnaround times are met and that critical results are appropriately reported and documented
• Perform quality control and proficiency testing procedures; interpret and troubleshoot QC results to ensure accurate and precise outcomes
• Perform preventative maintenance, minor troubleshooting, and calibration of laboratory instrumentation; participate in method and instrument evaluation and implementation
• Participate in teaching and training of new staff and students; maintain and develop competency in current and newly implemented procedures

Required Qualifications

• MLT or MLS Generalist Certification or Specialty Certification (BB, C, H, or M) required
• Must be qualified to perform high complexity testing per CLIA 493.1489 Standard — Testing Personnel Qualifications
• Hematology and Blood Bank experience required
• Education verification required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience across multiple laboratory specialties including urinalysis, chemistry, and/or microbiology
• Familiarity with laboratory instrument troubleshooting, calibration, and method evaluation
• Prior experience in a teaching or training capacity within a clinical laboratory setting
