Travel RN – Operating Room / Surgery (Mid Shift)

Contract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Full-Time | Onsite | Monday–Friday, 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM | On-call required 1–2 times per week and every 3rd weekend (Friday–Sunday)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide routine and complex perioperative nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients in the operating room setting.
• Administer medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitor for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments.
• Address psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications administered, and care provided accurately and in a timely manner.
• Assess patient and family learning needs; provide education and identify appropriate resources.
• Make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers as needed to manage the clinical situation effectively.

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of employment or a valid compact RN license.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Ability to scrub and/or circulate across a broad range of surgical specialties including orthopedics, spine, general surgery, urology, podiatry, and hand surgery.
• Willingness and ability to float between two OR campuses as needed.
• Ability to fulfill on-call requirements: 1–2 times per week and every 3rd weekend.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in an operating room or surgical nursing specialty.
• Experience with robotic-assisted surgery, Mako total joint procedures, or complex spine/cranial cases is a plus.
• Familiarity with ENT, gynecology, or pediatric surgical cases beneficial for float campus coverage.
