Contract | 13 Weeks | Days | 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM | Onsite | Travel
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a Surgical First Assistant across a 5-OR surgical suite, supporting a range of operative procedures
- Perform scrub duties for open heart procedures — ability to scrub open heart cases is required
- Function as OR circulator as needed, maintaining a 1:1 patient ratio throughout surgical cases
- Operate and assist with basic OR equipment including cautery, video monitors, arthroscopy equipment, and positioning equipment
- Document accurately using the facility's Meditech EMR system
- Fulfill rotating call obligations, including a minimum of one night per week and one weekend per five-week schedule
Required Qualifications
- CST or ORT credential with First Assistant experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a surgical first assistant or OR circulator role
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- Ability to fulfill rotating call schedule (minimum one night per week and one weekend per five-week schedule)
- Ability to scrub open heart procedures
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in orthopedics, general surgery, gynecology, robotics, or urology
- Experience in vascular, cardiovascular, neuro, or thoracic surgical specialties
- Familiarity with Meditech EMR
- Flexible, team-oriented, and adaptable to a fast-paced surgical environment
