Schedule / Job Type
Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Full-Time | Days | Monday–Friday, 5x8-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM) | On-call required: 2 weekend call shifts per month and 1 call night per week
Key Responsibilities
- Provides routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process — including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation — for assigned patients in an endoscopy/GI setting
- Administers medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitors for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatment
- Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice
- Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately and in a timely manner
- Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifies issues and available resources
- Floats to other departments within Surgical Services as required
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in the state of employment or a valid compact nursing license
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
- ACLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
- Ability and willingness to take on-call shifts, including weekend call
- Willingness to float to other departments within Surgical Services
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Minimum 1 year of experience in endoscopy, GI, or a related nursing specialty
- Ability to manage and delegate care effectively in complex clinical situations
