Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (18:45–07:15) | Expected 36 hours/week | 13–26 week assignments accepted

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a cardiac telemetry/stepdown unit managing diagnoses including Atrial Fibrillation, CHF, ACS, CAD, aortic and mitral valve conditions, cardiomyopathy, and vascular conditions
• Monitor, interpret, and manage cardiac dysrhythmias; manage cardiac drips including titration as required
• Perform and assist with sheath management and sheath removal; care for patients pre- and post-cardiac catheterization and post-DCCV and electrophysiology procedures
• Operate and monitor special equipment including arterial lines, chest tubes (Emerson/Pleuravac), epicardial pacing wires, femoral sheaths, TR band, Fem-stop, Doppler, bladder scanner, and EKG
• Provide non-invasive airway management including external CPAP/BiPAP and nasal cannula support
• Document using EPIC, dispense medications via Pyxis, and communicate using SBAR; must pass EKG testing prior to start

Required Qualifications

• Active NC RN license or Compact RN license (pending licensure acceptable at time of submission)
• Minimum of 2 years of experience on a cardiac floor required
• Prior travel nursing experience required unless the candidate has more than 24 months of cardiac experience
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification required
• Must be open to floating within or near the facility per unit rotation policy (not first to float)
• Local candidates (within 50 miles of the facility) are welcome to apply; a local rate differential applies

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Arterial line management experience
• Wound care and wound vac experience
• Charge nurse experience
