Sterile Processing Technician – Surgical Services

Contract | Days | 5x8 Hours | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Perform sterile processing duties within the main Operating Room environment, including decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instruments
• Maintain compliance with infection control standards and sterile processing best practices
• Utilize Epic for charting and documentation as required
• Float to an affiliated ASC (Ambulatory Surgery Center) sister facility as needed
• Commit to working 3 of 5 designated holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of sterile processing experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
• National HSPA Certification required
• BLS Certification required
• Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible at standard terms; candidates within 50 miles may be considered at a lower rate
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of candidate submission; post-submission RTO requests may not be considered

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in an acute care hospital OR or surgical services environment
• Familiarity with Epic electronic health record system
• Prior travel contract or per-diem experience in a surgical or sterile processing setting
