Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a stepdown/PCU setting, managing a diverse caseload including cardiac, neurological, respiratory, and post-surgical patients
• Monitor and interpret telemetry, including dysrhythmia identification and management; participate in Rapid Response Team activations as needed
• Manage complex IV therapy including arterial lines, central lines, PICC lines, port access, blood product administration, heparin protocols, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Provide respiratory support including care of ventilated patients, tracheostomy management, chest tube care, HFNC, CPAP/BiPAP, and ABG interpretation
• Care for neurological patients including CVA, TBI, spinal cord injury, craniotomy, and pre/post neurosurgery cases
• Float within scope to meet facility needs as required; expected to work every other weekend

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license required at time of submission — pending licenses are not accepted
• BLS certification required (AHA or Red Cross accepted; RQI cards not accepted)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a Telemetry, Neuro Stepdown, PCU/DOU/IMC, or Stepdown setting
• Experience with the full range of required cardiac, neurological, respiratory, IV therapy, and medication skills outlined in the specialty requirements
• Local candidates are welcome — no radius restriction applies

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification preferred
• Experience with Cerner electronic health records
• Teaching hospital experience
• Level I Trauma center experience
