Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Step Down/HVTI unit setting, with potential to float to additional units caring for the same patient population
• Work rotating day and night shifts (7:00 AM–7:30 PM / 7:00 PM–7:30 AM) as needed to meet operational needs of the facility
• Monitor and interpret ECG rhythms and administer medications safely in accordance with facility standards
• Participate in holiday coverage rotation, expected to work at least every other holiday
• Complete required orientation assessments including ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate, achieving acceptable scores within two attempts
• Complete annual hands-on competency requirements and facility-assigned modules as applicable throughout the contract period

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of permanent experience in IMC/PCU/Step Down or the specialty being applied for
• Active, permanent Ohio RN license or Compact State license — must be in hand at time of submission; no pending licenses accepted
• Active AHA or American Red Cross BLS certification — must be in hand at time of submission
• Active ACLS certification — must be in hand at time of submission
• Active NIHSS certification — must be in hand at time of submission
• One professional reference required from a manager, Assistant Nurse Manager, supervisor, or director in the applicable specialty from an assignment worked within the past 12 months (co-worker references not accepted)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Step Down or HVTI unit experience within a single location
• Familiarity with ECG rhythm recognition and medication safety assessment tools
• Experience working in a large academic or high-acuity hospital environment
