Full-time, night shifts, 36 hours per week
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide primary nursing care to ICU patients, including those with respiratory failure, post-surgical recovery, wound care, and cardiovascular conditions.
- Monitor and titrate drips such as vasopressors, sedation, and pain control medications, including Precedex, Propofol, Fentanyl, and others.
- Manage ventilated and sedated patients, ensuring safety and comfort while utilizing bedside equipment like ventilators, Cpap/BiPap, and high-flow devices.
- Collaborate with hospitalists, intensivists, and telemetry techs to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain documentation, perform assessments, and adhere to unit protocols to ensure safety and compliance.
Required Qualifications:
- Active Illinois registered nurse license or confirmation of application submission.
- BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Last four digits of SSN and middle initial for submission purposes.
- Experience in critical care nursing and procedures such as CVC/PICC/Midline care, PEG tube management, and ventilator care.
- Ability to titrate various infusions and monitor telemetry readings.
Preferred Experience / Skills:
- Familiarity with ICU equipment troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Experience working with sedated, ventilated, and hemodynamically unstable patients.
- Knowledge of telehealth monitoring systems and use of Philips telemetry monitors.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
