Key Responsibilities

• Assist in surgical procedures within a Level I trauma hospital setting
• Prepare operating rooms with necessary instruments and supplies
• Maintain sterile techniques and adhere to infection control protocols
• Support surgical team during complex procedures across multiple specialties including general, ENT, neurosurgery, orthopedics, plastics, trauma, urology, and gynecology
• Handle surgical instrumentation such as drills, electrosurgical units, fiber optic sources, and other specialized equipment
• Ensure proper documentation and specimen handling in compliance with safety standards

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 18 months of OR experience, including trauma and teaching hospital settings
• IL license in hand at the time of application
• BLS certification required; CST preferred
• Experience with a variety of surgical procedures listed, including ENT, general, neurosurgery, orthopedic, plastic, trauma, urology, and gynecology
• Ability to float within scope of practice and work 2 out of 3 major holidays

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Level I trauma hospital experience
• Experience with Cerner charting system
• Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques and safety protocols
• Ability to handle complex surgical instrumentation and endoscopic procedures

• Travel compliance includes SSN and DOB verification, with RTO approvals as needed
• Candidates must be within 50 miles or more from the facility (except OR RNs) and be willing to float across units as required
• All certifications must be current (AHA or Red Cross only), with additional modules completed within specified timeframes
