Key Responsibilities
- Provide quality nursing care to orthopedic patients in a 38-bed unit within a Level I trauma center
- Manage IV therapy, including PICC line treatments and starting IVs
- Document patient care using Cerner electronic charting system
- Float within hospital departments and to affiliate facilities as needed
- Collaborate with healthcare team to ensure best patient outcomes
- Adhere to hospital policies, including holiday and RTO scheduling requirements
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of current nursing experience in acute or orthopedic care
- Valid IL nursing license in hand at time of application
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Strong IV therapy and phlebotomy skills (including PICC line management)
- Experience with Cerner electronic charting system preferred
- Ability to work every third weekend and two of three major holidays
- Must be willing to float within scope to meet facility needs
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Telemetry experience preferred
- Previous travel nurse experience preferred
- Additional certifications (AHA, Red Cross) required; RQI cards not accepted

Additional Details
- Shift involves working nights (7:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
- Parking permit provided at no cost
- Travel compliance required, including background checks, fingerprints, and sanctioned hours
- Traveling clinicians must be at least 50 miles from the facility; locals accepted
- Floating is mandatory across hospital departments and affiliate hospitals
- Modules and training completed virtually on the first day and annually
- No on-call requirement; limited cancellation hours permitted without charge
