Schedule / Job Type

• Full-time, 13-week travel assignment
• Day shifts (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM)
• 3 shifts per week, totaling 12.5 hours per shift

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized care for patients in the Intermediate Care, Progressive Care, and Stepdown units.
• Manage post-surgical, cardiovascular, and vascular surgery patients, including procedures such as open heart surgery, TAVR, lobectomy, AAA repair, and fem-pop bypass.
• Monitor patients with complex cardiac and thoracic conditions, administering medications and utilizing medical equipment like IV pumps and epidural devices.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care and safety.
• Accurately document patient status, treatments, and interventions in electronic health records.

Required Qualifications

• Active North Carolina Registered Nurse license
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• At least 2 years of RN experience in a critical or stepdown care setting
• Telemetry or cardiac stepdown experience

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with cardiovascular and vascular surgery patients (post-op open heart, TAVR, lobectomy, AAA repair, fem-pop bypass) within the past year
• Previous work in a CVICU or similar environment

• Floating area includes other cardiology or medical-surgical units (1:5 or 1:6 patient ratios)
• No on-call required; weekend shifts (minimum of 6 per schedule cycle) and holiday flexibility needed
• Dress code: navy or white scrubs
